چکیده

We benchmarked many implementations of all remaining SHA-3 candidate algorithms on several platforms. The benchmarking method used in this report is called XBX, short for eXternal Benchmarking eXtension, an extension of the SUPERCOP-eBASH framework [7] that allows benchmarking small devices. For details on how XBX works, please see [3]. The main sources of candidate implementations were SUPERCOP, the avr-crypto-lib [6] and its derivative arm-crypto-lib [5]. Implementations from sphlib [8] were included in the SUPERCOP package. Several embedded-friendly implementations which were added as of supercop-20120120 have been included separately as most benchmark runs were started before January 20th, 2012.

XBX-1 encodes a dynein light intermediate chain required for retrograde intraflagellar transport and cilia assembly in Caenorhabditis elegans.

Intraflagellar transport (IFT) is a process required for flagella and cilia assembly that describes the dynein and kinesin mediated movement of particles along axonemes that consists of an A and a B complex, defects in which disrupt retrograde and anterograde transport, respectively. Herein, we describe a novel Caenorhabditis elegans gene, xbx-1, that is required for retrograde IFT and shares h...

XBX: eXternal Benchmarking eXtension for the SUPERCOP Crypto Benchmarking Framework

SUPERCOP [1] is a benchmarking framework for cryptographic algorithms like ciphers and hash functions. It automatically benchmarks algorithms across several implementations, compilers, compiler options and input data lengths. Since it is freely available for download the results are easily reproducible and benchmark results for virtually every computer that is capable of running SUPERCOP are av...

Analysis of xbx genes in C. elegans.

Cilia and flagella are widespread eukaryotic subcellular components that are conserved from green algae to mammals. In different organisms they function in cell motility, movement of extracellular fluids and sensory reception. While the function and structural description of cilia and flagella are well established, there are many questions that remain unanswered. In particular, very little is k...

The Retrograde IFT Machinery of C. elegans Cilia: Two IFT Dynein Complexes?

We analyzed the relatively poorly understood IFT-dynein (class DYNC2)-driven retrograde IFT pathway in C. elegans cilia, which yielded results that are surprising in the context of current models of IFT. Assays of C. elegans dynein gene expression and intraflagellar transport (IFT) suggest that conventional IFT-dynein contains essential heavy (CHE-3), light-intermediate (XBX-1), plus three ligh...
